"A birth of internet"

This is a collaborative work with Keiken collective which is formed by Falmouth university alumnus.

I was performing as a pregnance of internet. Wearing black and red. The red color from a mouse was like the laser of eggs to my wombs or an ultra echo. Typing on a key board is like sending datas through drumming to my belly like Semiotic language(Julia Kristeva's).

Mirroring a person in front of me, that was creating internet and also baby. Merging and recognizing each other.

The background was like an office. Working with PC is general recently, the process might make a baby too through interacting with the actions.

FOMO with KEIKEN

I experience the internet pregnancy again in a different environment. The most different point was to have children as audiences. The one in London was quite mature content but the one in FOMO was more family like. I was wearing a red tank top and acted as a pregnant robot. I could interact with a small girl too. She was curious about objects in the room and she passed my many stuffs, news papers, a training tool, anything what attracted her. I felt as if I became a real caring robot like ‘Doraemon(A cat robot which has a pocket to get useful tools to solve many problems from Japanese animation)’ though the interaction. Through the performance, I started to think of the emotion of robots. I pushed a key board violently to express anger. I tried to sleep on the key board to express tiredness. I touched my belly softly to show tenderness. I’m still thinking of the emotions of robot. I somehow feel that Im also like a robot here in UK. I’m kind of programed to behave as a Japanese subconsciously. So somehow, I could understand the robot’s emotion.

When I was not real but real pregnant human
I got a light from a square box to my brain
My brain made some signals to my belly
My belly got a light inside
